File Server Conversion
In many small to medium offices, files are kept on local disk drives as opposed to a central file server. This is convenient at first, but eventually becomes an administration nightmare as other people need access to the same files. Eventually, one central computer becomes the file server for the whole office, and that one computer becomes unusable by the person who owns it.
Also, if your important data is on one computer and something happens to that computer, your data is lost. Linux offers several possible solutions (using free software) to this dilemma.
Here's what we will do for you:
We will evaluate your environment to see if a Linux solution is workable (it usually is).
We will take your data and put it on a Linux computer and share it to the people who need access to it.
We can use Linux to set up redundant disks (RAID) for your data. There is no need to buy expensive RAID hardware when you can just share it from one central computer (perhaps an older computer).
Optionally, we can set up a backup schedule for you.

So, what are the benefits to you?
A Linux server is typically faster because there is lower CPU power overhead on the computer.
A Central Repository for files is created, which allows file sharing.
Reliable backups can be scheduled and performed more easily, since all data is in one place.
Linux software is less expensive than other software.
